About Blind Spots & Signals
Sector-by-sector stock research that links each price move to the news and geopolitical events behind it.
What the app does
Blind Spots & Signals is a research workspace for equity markets. You follow the sector desks you choose, see what moved in the last session, and read the news or event linked to each move. You can stay at a plain-English summary or open the full data.
- See what moved. A dashboard shows every sector you follow with the day's change and how many companies it's based on.
- Read why. News and events are matched to the companies they affect, shown as a headline, its source and a link, with our own analysis beside it.
- Go into a sector. Each of the thirteen sector desks has an overview with its largest holdings and a research tab with the sector's own data.
- Look up any company. Open a company for its profile, chart, income statement, balance sheet and earnings history, plus options positioning if you follow that desk.
- Use the specialist desks. Defense has a supply-chain graph and China exposure. Infrastructure tracks company relationships and spending programmes. AI infrastructure follows the data-centre build across sectors. The ETF desk ranks funds by what they hold. Options shows positioning one symbol at a time. US trade compares goods trade by partner.
- Manage your own account. You choose which desks to hold, see where you're signed in, and can end any session yourself.
The data refreshes through the day, and the site shows which sector had the most price action in the last session.
Why we built it
Most tools show you a chart and leave the explaining to you. We start from the explanation: what moved, which news or event is linked to it, and how sure we are. [Founder name and a sentence or two on why you built it]
How we handle data
- Unknown is never zero. If a figure can't be read, the page says so. It never shows a missing number as flat, empty or zero.
- Numbers say what they are. A sector's daily change is a size-weighted average of the companies we track, not an index level, and each figure states how many companies it covers.
- Stories link to their source. News appears as a headline, its source and a link, with our own analysis beside it.
Market data, news and economic series come from third-party providers and U.S. federal data sources. They can be delayed or incomplete.
What it isn't
Blind Spots & Signals is a research tool. Nothing here is investment advice, an offer, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security.
